We are where we’ve been, a mnml digest
A curated journey through five articles, posts and podcasts that are speaking to me this week. Pulled widely from a week’s worth of reading. Shared in ten sentences or fewer. A fun means of reflecting on the blogs I regularly read in a way that spreads the link love.
This week: My reading has me on a philosophical wander through how our histories shape what we value now. We are where we’ve been. Biography is the journey to what we value now. And we have no choice but to bring our histories with us. Worn on our sleeves, in our heads, and in our selves. (Philosophical much?)
Look It Up? Only if You’re Dishonest and Ignorant (NY Times). For example, the index sits at the hearts of both digital and analog databases. I added a history of indexes to my “to read” pile.
Digital Writing Update (Stationery Adjacent). We bring ourselves everywhere we go. Even when we tote our analog selves into digital spaces.
Lennon Tool Bar Hard Rime on Leuchtturm1917 (Inkcredible Colours). Our experiences are lenses through which we see new experiences. Like references to whatever “hard rime” is.
Getting the Right Nib (GoodWritersPens). How the process of choosing the right nib used to be. And how it shapes finding the “right” nib nowadays.
Ink review: TACCIA Ukiyo-e Utamaro-ume-murasaki (inkxplorations). A fun ink from this excellent line of inks that manifest colors from Edo-era Japanese paintings. An ink that wears its history and on the page.

Note: This remains an experimental post series. I’m still playing with a creative way to share links. Future posts may look quite different as I continue to tinker. Suggestions are quite welcome!
