A mindset of rose tinted glasses, a mnml digest
A curated journey through five articles, posts and podcasts that are speaking to me this week. Pulled widely from a week’s worth of reading. Shared in ten sentences or fewer. A fun means of reflecting on the blogs I regularly read in a way that spreads the link love.
This week: I’m reflecting on how mindset matters. My week’s reading calls me to wear rose tinted glasses. To see and name the positive when it arrives. To break the rules when the creativity genie arrives. And to read the possible into the doable.
dubito: kaweco green liliput (A Fleeting Ripple). My pre-planned preferences can keep me from trying new pens and inks. A little productivity tao can lead to lovely discoveries — like a tiny, yet mighty, new-favorite pen.
Yarn and Ink: What’s in that pink? (The Well-Appointed Desk). I’m reminded of the powerful celebrating milestones can be. “On track to finish” is well worth a wahoo.
Yokozuna wannabe (José Naranja). Setting a goal is distinct from setting a suitable goal. Goals, like awesome pants, should fit well.
The Creative Reader: Octavio Paz on the Life of Books, Poetry as a Form of Rebellion, and How We Co-Create the Landscape of Possibility (The Marginalian). Popova’s essay reminds me that my day-to-day milestones nearly-always require others to buy in. A task that gets pushed back may say more about the group than me, specifically.
Just putting it out there (CJ Chilvers). Which highlights the power of sharing the unfinished, more-dream-than-reality progress. Sometimes those things become what you actually want.
