When in doubt, being thoughtful is enough, a mnml digest
A curated journey through five articles, posts and podcasts that are speaking to me this week. Pulled widely from a week’s worth of reading. Shared in ten sentences or fewer. A fun means of reflecting on the blogs I regularly read in a way that spreads the link love.
This week: thoughtfulness is a difference-maker. There are many false milestones: being the best, being the first, being the biggest. My reading this week has me thinking that being thoughtful may be an authentic measure of success. When in doubt, be thoughtful.
Useful Notes Layouts: Use a Topics / Thoughts Log for Meetings with Lots of New Information (Analog Office). Separating what you see or hear from what you feel or think is the heart of good research methodology and strong reading practice. And definitely a good notetaking strategy.
Søndaggsplitten — Rapport fra NaNoWriMo 2022 (Pennen Er Mektigere). Reflecting intentionally on the extent to which I met my goals requires forgiveness. My journey — like Anders’ journey through NaNoWriMo — is beautifully non-linear.
Affirmation in Solitude: Ursula K. Le Guin on the Poetry of Penguins (The Marginalian). Poetry earned my heart as a practice of minimalist epistemology. The meaning to be found in thoughtfulness.
Review: PhoenixPenStands Pen Tray and Rests (KraftyCats). Often, thoughtful practice sits quietly in the background. In this case, a thoughtful pen tray lets the pens themselves stand out.
Dune Hits Different When You Live in Arrakis (A Teacher’s Evolving Mind). More than anything: timing matters. Thoughtful reflection connects what I’m supposed to be doing to what my heart says I should be doing.
