Reward for returning to the old with fresh eyes, a mnml digest
A curated journey through five articles, posts and podcasts that are speaking to me this week. Pulled widely from a week’s worth of reading. Shared in ten sentences or fewer. A fun means of reflecting on the blogs I regularly read in a way that spreads the linky love.
My reading this week has me reflecting on ways to keep my existing collection surprising me. A diverse pen collection helps mix and match pens, nibs and inks so that old pens can surprise me. And straight-up swapping parts carries the day otherwise.
I Modded My 849s (The Well-Appointed Desk). Swapping, switching, and modding makes my pens truly mine.
currently inked v (inksharks). The reward of thinking through the kinds of writing a pen and ink combo may do well.
Old Friends From My Stash (An Inkophile’s Blog). A poignant reminder that a pen need not be new to feel new.
Refill Hacks: Alternatives for the Caran d’Ache 849 Ballpoint (The Gentleman Stationer). And such swapping lives across all stationery, even ballpoint pens.
Francis Ford Coppola’s “Godfather Notebook” (Noted). And, lastly, the power of margin notes for connecting great ideas. Analog margin notes. Notes written with pen in margins. My favorite.
